В операционной системе Windows файл hosts используется для сопоставления IP-адресов и доменных имен. Это происходит до обращения к DNS. Если в hosts указан другой IP-адрес, чем в DNS, Windows будет использовать IP-адрес, указанный в hosts.

Для редактирования файла hosts можно использовать любой текстовый редактор. В Windows XP он расположен по следующему пути: c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.

Откроем файл hosts и посмотрим его содержимое:

Обратите внимание, что строки, начинающиеся с символа #, игнорируются системой.

Если вам нужно, чтобы домен domen.com был привязан к IP-адресу 81.177.22.11, файл hosts должен выглядеть следующим образом:
